We'll laugh till we cry, read each other's minds

I remember...

Walking through the woods with the other half of me, comforatable silence between us. Watching fireworks from the back yard. Sharing secrets. Drawing in the hall way. Playing duets three hundred times in succession. Crying together. Eating ice cream sitting on the kitchen counter once everyone else had gone to bed.

We don't have to try
To think the same thoughts
We just have a way
Of knowing everything's gonna be ok

Wednesday night of Camp Hope, when we stayed up late in the kitchen, all of us on ice cream highs, laughing, and laughing, and laughing...

We'll laugh 'til we cry
Read each others minds
Live with a smile
Make it all worthwhile
Make it all worthwhile

A group hug the last week before Christmas break. Spending hours in the lobby, trying together to understand life. Getting to know one another so well that we all misprounce the same words. The square dance. The time we crawled behind the tables in the lunch room, sat criss cross on the floor, and opened up to one another. Officialy adopting a big brother. Sarcasim.

Life has moments hard to describe
Feeling great and feeling alive
Never coming down from this
Mountain we're on

Dancing at the medevil feast. Pouring drinks in the Camp Hope kitchen. Discovering we're only three days apart in age. Screaming to the music in the back of the car. Playing oposite each other in the Sunday School skit. Taking third of three in the three legged race. Vicious pokes. Friday evenings with ice cream and loud music on chat.

Always knowing we're gonna be fine
Feeling great and feeling alive
Never coming down from this
Mountain were on
The feeling so clear
And it's crazy up here
Life is amazing with you on the ride

Devotions in the girls cabin, all but two crying. Volley ball and a camp fire. Marshmellows.

We don't wanna sleep
Just wanna stay up
There's so much to say
And not enough hours in the day

Arguing over email. Obsessing over Lord of the Rings. Opening our worlds to one another and stepping inside. Laying on the trampoline and star gazing on a cloudy night. Three thousand, six hundred and twenty-seven some odd hugs. Escaping to find a creek at Camp Hope. The chicken dance during Theoden's death scene.

We'll laugh 'til we cry
Read each others minds
Live with a smile
Make it all worthwhile
Make it all worthwhile

Girl talk after While You Were Sleeping.

Life has moments hard to describe
Feeling great and feeling alive
Never coming down from this
Mountain we're on

Sitting around the table for hours on end playing the hospital game. Talking all night. Pretend. Putting on our own talent shows. Capture the flag.

Always knowing we're gonna be fine
Feeling great and feeling alive
Never coming down from this
Mountain were on
The feelings so clear
And it's crazy up here
Life is amazing with you on the ride

Taking a walk after church and forgetting to come home for an hour and a half. Being there for each other, to keep from drowning. Singing together, listening to music together, being sisters.

No time to be lazy
The journey is perfect
The pace is so crazy
The race is so worth it
I will be with you
We'll do this together
Always together

Swinging on the grandparent's rope swing in the Colorado mountains, nothing but sky and tall peaks to one side and the tiny old wood-panneled house to the other. Playing farm in the back yard. The mini roller coaster at the fair. The dafodil parade. Singing together at Camp Hope. Ice skating...

Life has moments hard to describe
Feeling great and feeling alive
Never coming down from this
Mountain we're on
(Mountain we’re on)

Always knowing we're gonna be fine
Feeling great and feeling alive
Never coming down from this
Never comin' down
Never comin' down
Never comin’ down (from this)

Always knowing were gonna be fine
Feeling great and feeling alive
Never coming down from this
Mountain were on
(Never coming down from this)

The feeling's so clear and it's crazy up here
Life is amazing with you on the ride
The place so is crazy
The race is so worth it
Life is amazing with you on the ride

Very artistic post. I'm not surprised though, you've always been a great writer.

Adopting a younger sister, awkward silences, and wierd dreams! LOL

Rock on sis!

WOW.

I almost did cry!

That was amazing Em. You are a superb writer. I love it when you can read something and the memories almost become yours.
