Brrrrr...

It's like 57 degrees in here.

Better than the 53 we had earlier. But... (obviously) WE HAVE POWER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hated having no power. Not only was it ridiculously cold, all the time, but I was totaly out of contact with everyone. NOT FUN.

Well, I saw Eragon. To those of you who were planning to go with me the week after Christmas... don't worry! I'll go again!!! And I still love you!!!

But as for the movie...

Eh.

Sad, but true. Arya was TERRIBLE. They had her in this mini skirt thing dancing and twiriling around in the bushes, totaly the typical Holywood 'come and get me' sort of girl. And she had an instant attraction to Eragon, while in the book she had no interest in him what so ever. Actually, the movie might as well have been titled 'Arya' because they made it centered more on her than Eragon.

As for Eragon... Ed Spealers or whatever his name was saved the movie. And I don't mean in the Hollywood sense- he was very human and relatable. I'm guessing the critics will tear him apart, but I think he really was perfect for the role.

Let's see. Brom was weak... Roran, thankfully, was good, but they cut Katrina. :-Z They also cut out... Ori? Yeah, I think that was his name. And all of the dwarves.

They changed the story line uncessisarily. I understand that some things have to be changed in making a book into a movie, but they just hollywoodized it.

Murtaug was great. Which is so funny, because I never liked him in the book. Over all, the quality of the movie was pretty good... but they really ruined Palinori's masterpeice. Which is so sad, because it's the movie people will remember... and soon they'll have books with the movie pictures on them and the two works will become one. People will read about Arya and see this whisp of a thing from the movie and think that's her. It's so sad.

It really scares me to think that if I ever write a book, and it gets put into a movie, they might slaughter it just like that. But I guess you can't bite the hand that feeds you, and having a epic movie made after your book would be an honnor.

Well, these are just my opinions. You guys will have to form your own.

I'm still freezing. Maybe I'll go read by a heating vent.

I might point out that I enjoy plenty of movies. Plenty of good movies. They just don't happen to be the movies YOU like. :-)

well I would say something wise, but considering not only am I not wise, I haven't read or seen this infamous eragon fellow or his books.

and did you type this on a laptop? because no power but computers is confusing!

but anyhows, hope you're feeling um warmer, I guess.

I guess I'm pretty critical of movies too. they're so much easier to ruin than books.

I made a blog!http://inthevillagesquare.blogspot.com.

I pretty much have no idea who all of you are, just a vague mix of hammermasters, watts, and skogels, so if you would inform me I would be eternally grateful.

Verya, graceful elven maiden, at your service. *bows gracefully*
(I'm Anna's friend who you met after her concert).
Ribbons would be Em, Eowyn is the eldest H, and Vani the eldest of all of us, so...yeah. I think I got it all right. This is most of us, besides your sister.
We have a generator, so we didn't get cold! And of course as soon as we get it fixed, power comes back on...I'll post about it later...need to stop putting my post in my comments...

thank you "C" I guess I'll call you. I forgot about that name business.

Vani's the eldest Smeagol. ummm...scougale. yeah.
and then there's Elliot. *stern glare at Samwise*

and Arya's miniskirt is way not that bad. I've seen it in the pictures.
but I'm very happy Murtagh is cool because he always was my favorite, yes precious.

and yes vani you did choose a good time to be in california...and haha I blocked you from calling Em last night. *is evil*

and I'm anonymous because I've been having trouble signing in lately with the @#$%@ blogger beta thing.

Yeah sometimes it won't let me post comments as a blogger.
C is fine I guess. You could just use my name...Verya? Whatever I don't really care either way.
I also respond to 'hey you' but I think that may go for a lot of people on this blog so if you want everyone's attention just scream "hey you!" and we'll probably all look.

I like at least a hundred movies, Eowyn. My absolute favorites being Yours Mine and Ours, Willy Wonka, the Princess Bride, LOTR, POTC 1 and 2, Anne of Green Gables, the Sound of Music, Ever After, It's a Wonderful Life, Finding Nemo, Star Wars 3, National Treasure...
Surly you don't want me to continue. :-)

But seriously, what kinds of movies are your favorites?
